How to work in an embassy overseas

Citizenship is required for almost all embassy jobs. American embassies are native speaker language instructors. I have been supervisor of interns abroad. My impression is that the problem is the delay in security clearance often takes the student or graduate out of a viable timeframe.

For example, if you want to work as a historian, you will need at least a bachelor’s degree in history, and a graduate degree may give you an upper hand.
