Losing permanent residence denmark

Proposed bill L1says that an expat has to reside eight years in Denmark to be eligible to apply for permanent residency , replacing the current six years introduced just a few months ago. You must be over the age of 18. You can lose your right to permanent residence if you live outside the country for more than consecutive years.

If a permanent resident card expires it does not mean that you lose your permanent resident status — exactly as you do not cease being a citizen of a country when your travel passport expires.
